Gen.G swept LYON 3–0 in the Worlds 2026 quarterfinals in Allen, Texas, securing a November 7 semifinal against Invictus Gaming. LYON’s run ends in the last eight.

Gen.G closes the rematch in three

The series began on November 4 in Texas and finished early on November 5 in Central Europe. Gen.G had already beaten LYON 2–1 during Swiss; this time, it did not drop a map.

Kiin and Canyon helped establish the lead in the opener, before Ruler’s Ashe drove Gen.G’s second-map win. In Game 3, Chovy’s Taliyah attacked top lane early alongside Kiin’s Aurora, putting LYON under pressure before the first major objective fights.

LYON fought back through several mid-game skirmishes, but Gen.G adjusted its setup around dragon. Taliyah’s wall split the fight at soul point, Baron followed, and a clean ace in mid lane ended the series.

IG awaits in the semifinals

Gen.G now faces an IG lineup that defeated Top Esports 3–1 in the opening quarterfinal. Their semifinal is scheduled for November 7, with a place in the November 14 final in Brooklyn at stake.

For LYON, the defeat follows a 2–1 victory over LOS in the final Swiss round that kept the LCS represented in the knockout stage. The remaining quarterfinals are DK–BLG on November 5 and T1–KC on November 6; see the full draw and schedule.
