Dplus KIA is the first team through to the Worlds 2026 quarterfinals. The LCK representative defeated Movistar KOI 2–0 on October 25 in Allen, Texas, completing an unbeaten run through the Swiss Stage.
DK leaves Swiss with a 3–0 series record and four map wins from four games. MKOI drops to 2–1, still one best-of-three victory away from advancing. This was a qualification series: the defeat does not eliminate the European side.
Smash’s pentakill opens the door
Smash delivered the standout moment of the opening game, claiming a pentakill on Kai’Sa as DK won a decisive late fight. MKOI had kept the contest alive through dragon fights and catches in mid, but could not stop the final push.
Game two was far more comfortable for DK. ShowMaker found a solo kill with Syndra, while Career helped create picks on Bard. The Korean side built a commanding lead and closed the sweep without needing a third map.
A perfect Swiss run, another chance for MKOI
DK’s route to the last eight went through G2 Esports, T1 and now MKOI. After two opening best-of-one victories, the step up to a qualification series brought the same outcome: another win.
For MKOI, the early cushion still matters. Wins over Bilibili Gaming and CTBC Flying Oyster put the team in position to qualify here. It now moves into the 2–1 pool, where its next opponent will depend on the remaining results and draw.
DK can turn its attention to the knockout stage while the rest of the field continues through Swiss. Our Day 2 recap covers how both teams reached this meeting, alongside the other qualification and elimination matchups.
