Chovy’s North American solo queue nickname comes with a message. The Gen.G midlaner chose “calm down” after encountering players who rushed, pinged excessively and spent too much time chatting.

A nickname inspired by solo queue

He explained that he often chooses a name reflecting his surroundings at Worlds. This time, the behaviour he noticed on the NA server supplied the idea.

His comments were about those interactions, rather than a blanket verdict on every North American player.

Why he has been playing solo queue

Chovy said he had not yet tried Champions Queue at the time of the interview. Long waits made him question its practical advantage, while solo queue offered quicker practice and opportunities to encounter unfamiliar ideas.

On the Worlds patch, he expected relatively limited overall changes, while noting midlane champion nerfs and the Rocketbelt adjustment.

The goal remains Worlds

Behind the nickname, his objective remains winning Worlds. Chovy emphasised practice and delivering a performance on stage that meets his own standards.
